ESOMAR Global Healthcare 2010: Trends and Innovation Booster
Multiple group members have brought this conference to my attention. I noticed that ESOMAR’s vision for the conference “The Global Healthcare sector has historically been fairly resilient to recessions, but it is not ‘recession proof’. The long-term prospects for the sector are good, as strong growth in emerging markets, an ageing population, and growing levels of lifestyle-related chronic diseases in the developed world drive demand. However, the industry dynamics are fundamentally changing. For instance: the application of Web 2.0 technologies and new marketing strategies are transforming the world of care delivery worldwide. The ESOMAR Global Healthcare 2010 Conference focuses on innovation, market trends, and the role of research as the catalyst of this evolution” was in sync with the reasons I started this blog and the Linkedin group.
Upon further investigating, I was impressed by the program committee which includes two of the Linkedin group members: Christine Chastain and Lekshmy Parameswaran. I was also impressed by the topics that are being covered especially the World of Healthcare 2.0 and Healthcare Innovation sessions. I ended up connecting with Robert de Bruyn from ESOMAR and we decided to collaborate on spreading the word on the great potential for innovation to positively impact the future of healthcare. I am looking forward to other opportunities to collaborate with ESOMAR.
